Feb-20-Grace! It's Gotta' Be Good for Your Gonads

Dream Word – PURE

Exodus 34:6-7
And the Lord passed before him and proclaimed, "The Lord, the Lord God, merciful and gracious, longsuffering, and abounding in goodness and truth, keeping mercy for thousands, forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin, by no means clearing the guilty, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children and the children's children to the third and the fourth generation." NKJV

Grace! It's Gotta' Be Good for Your Gonads

The problem with sin is that is damages the whole man and tonight, I would like to speak primarily to men and to those prospective fathers who, in their sin, are most certainly not only damaging themselves but their offspring to come, even up to the third and fourth generations! Tonight, I not only call your attention to or text but also quote from some recent scientific research and apply to that, a good old dose of common sense.

A US study recently presented to the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) suggests that a father's health plays a greater role in the health of future generations than has previously been thought. A team from the University of Idaho in Moscow tested the effects of a hormone-disrupting fungicide chemical called vinclozolin on embryonic male rats and found that the damage caused to them, was also present in rats some four generations down the line! Now a man is not a rat that’s for sure and some might say they wish men were as a nice as rats but never the less, science is science and facts are facts. When you put a spanner in the sperm, the repercussions are generational. God has been saying this for thousands of years.

The problem with sin is that is damages the whole man. If I seek satisfaction outside of the boundaries laid down by God, the repercussion are seen in H.I.V., Gonorreah, Chlamydia and the like. Unwanted children, privations, poverty and a billion pitiful existences. Sin damages men spiritually, sexually, emotionally, socially, physically and economically. Sin has an holistic infiltration. Indeed, the latest scientific results also affirm the Scriptures, in that not only does sin effect your money sack for generations but it effects your sperm sack for generations as well. Am I being too crude, rude, lewd? Well someone needs to be, yes someone needs to be telling young men and prospective fathers that “Sin puts a spanner in your sperm!” Make no mistake that this is the truth, for even Professor Cynthia Daniels, from Rutgers University in New Jersey, regarding damage to male sperm and seminal fluid says “We need to open up our eyes and look at the evidence!” Further to this, Professor Neil McClure, a fertility expert at Queen's University Belfast, UK, acknowledged that once sperm cell DNA was damaged, it had no mechanism by which to effect repairs! He said: “There is no doubt that if you smoke like a chimney or drink vast amounts of alcohol it will result in sperm damage, and probably damage in the DNA of the sperm. My advice to any man trying for a baby would be to lead as healthy a lifestyle as possible.” Now there’s some good advice! You might be a sex bomb, but be sure of this, sin is a rampant repercussion bomb, which when not diffused, explodes through the generations of mankind! Your future generations.

I have no scientific proof, neither do I have Scriptural warrant for what I am about to suggest but I wonder if repentance and faith which receives the mercy and goodness of God, might just provide such a deep cleansing, that it could, with time, reach down to the DNA level of sperm and do some fixing? What I am saying is this: I wonder if mercy can mend sperm? What results, I wonder, would tests on the testes of righteous men provide, if done every seven years? Yes, I wonder of God’s goodness and I wonder if God’s grace is really good for our gonads as well?

Listen: - How can a young man cleanse his way? By taking heed according to Your word. Psalm 119:9

Pray:- With my whole heart I have sought You; Oh, let me not wander from Your commandments! Your word I have hidden in my heart, that I might not sin against You. Blessed are You, O Lord! Teach me Your statutes. With my lips I have declared all the judgments of Your mouth. I have rejoiced in the way of Your testimonies, as much as in all riches. I will meditate on Your precepts, and contemplate Your ways. I will delight myself in Your statutes; I will not forget Your word. (from Psalms 119:10-16)

Ministry hits the airwaves with “66 Weeks that will change your life”

Bible ministry Whispering Word is set to launch a life-changing new weekly radio series this Easter Sunday called 66 Weeks, providing a taster type overview of all the books in the Bible, reports Peter Wooding, Europe Bureau Chief for ASSIST News Service.

On Sunday April 24 at 5:45pm, London based Premier Christian Radio will broadcast the first of these 66 12 minute shows and continue every week at that time.

"We're convinced it's going to be one of the biggest initiatives to impact the Christian scene in the United Kingdom since Alpha course," said Reverend Victor Robert Farrell, founder of Whispering Word.

He added: "66 weeks came about after writing Bible book overviews for Christian men's magazine Sorted (a readers survey revealed that 50% of Sorted readers turn to these Bible book overviews before reading anything else in the mag!) Then by developing the Bible book overview for the five applications that Whispering Word has got on the iPad and iPhone. People love them! So, looking evangelistically, we believe that because we're in a society where there is a less than zero concept of God we need to introduce people to the God of the Bible, beginning at Genesis!"

As this year marks the 400th anniversary of the King James Version of the Bible Rev Farrell believes this is a strategic time to launch this radio series: "I think God in His providence allowed 66 Weeks to now come to the fore and be birthed for such a time as this. With so much secular media coverage on the fact that it's the 400th anniversary of the King James Version of the Bible, it's quite an opportunity to inform listeners of what the Bible really says and who the God of the Bible really is by committing themselves to these 66 Weeks which I know will change their life."

As well as Whispering Word’s many other resources such as daily devotionals and topical Bible publications, on the back of the 66 weeks radio series they'll be launching a number of other publications including four page pdf Bible overviews, a series of Bible overview and commentary books and a 66 week discipleship course in the London area for Christians and non-Christians to attend. This also will be available on video and V.R. is also in talks with an independent film producer to produce a documentary of the whole 66 Week Journey.

Rev Farrell is also hoping many other radio stations will want to make the most of broadcasting 66 Weeks: "We're in talks with a number of other Christian radio stations in the UK and eventually are even setting our sights on China and you know, we'd love to offer the series to secular radio stations.

"We're producing them very professionally and we want to also get it out to the United States, with such an exciting opportunity where there are at least 1600 Christian radio outlets.

"We believe 66 Weeks will have a dramatic impact, as both a discipleship course, and a great pre-evangelism tool to introduce non-Christians to the God of the Bible.

"We want to get this resource out to all the churches and so I would love to go and speak to as many churches and organisations as possible about this exciting and fresh Biblical initiative."

Waking

From Publishers Weekly

Eldredge, who helped to redefine the Christian men's movement with Wild at Heart, broadens his scope to offer this more general spirituality title on being "fully alive." Such a state of total animation is achieved only when Christians can integrate all four "streams" of their lives: discipleship, counseling, healing and warfare. (This last part may surprise some readers, but Eldredge insists that awareness of spiritual warfare actually "may be the most critical" aspect of being fully alive.) Throughout, he argues that there is glory hidden in each Christian's heart, an echo of how Christ has "ransomed and restored" every person. The goal, then, is to capture and maintain a sense of liberation from that restoration. Eldredge fans will find that he has not departed much from the formula that made Wild at Heart so successful; he culls examples from popular culture (The Perfect Storm, The Matrix, The Lord of the Rings, The Wizard of Oz) and tells vivid stories from his own experience. Despite the careful formula, the book rarely feels formulaic; it has an unguarded heart and an opinionated lucidity that may surprise readers. Eldredge is honest about the fact that life can be arduous, confusing and filled with despair, but he also affirms a deep Christian hope. Established Eldredge fans will be pleased with this new offering, and it will gather some new readers, especially women.

Product Description

There is a glory to life that most people--including believers--never see. In this insightful new book, John Eldredge presents the heart as central to life. Not only is the heart essential; the heart God has ransomed is also good. Building on these foundational truths, Eldredge shows readers why real Christianity is a process of restoration, where the broken parts of our hearts are mended and the captive parts are set free.

Waking the Dead leads listeners to understand how to live from the heart, care for their heart like the treasures of the kingdom, and give from fullness instead of emptiness. This message also shows how living from the heart can energize people to love God and others in a way they've never experienced, revealing to them life's purpose: fighting for the hearts of others.
